Tim,

I have been in biz for 5 years as of Today. About my website.... Do I get a lot of business from it.... not really. The more important question is "Do I get more business because of it? The answer to that is definently. People call for a quote and I ask them if they have been to my website telling them that I have many pictures of projects and a complete list of our services. I work very hard to start closing the deal before I even put out the proposal.

A good website can sell a customer on your service before they even call you. Our site brings in a LOT of work.

A website is one of the best things that you can have for your business. We always ask our customers how they find us so I am able to tell how well our different marketing strategies are working out. Let me just tell you, the website by far is the best!
We developed our site a while back with a company called Homestead (www.homestead.com). Their templates were far better than anything I would have come up with!

My website brings in more leads than any other form of advertising other than referells. I suggest you get started on it right away. Also keep in mind that your website is only as useful as how many people can find it. I suggest if you don't know much about SEO that you start learning. Search engine optimization is the most important key to getting the most out of your website.

Mathew you seem to rank pretty high up in Google, but I noticed a few things that I think would probably put you right at the top of the search results in your area.

For one, your home page title is "Pressure washing services" if you were to change that to: "Pressure Washing - New York NY" Basically, If you add your city/state to your title it should greatly increase your ranking in the search engines when someone in your area does a search for your services.

Also, I notices that in your homepage HTML code that you didn't have a description Meta tag. Google and other major search engines love using description tags to understand what your website/web page is about. If you add a good description meta tag, I believe it will help your ranking in the search results.

In our bootcamp we do stress the importance of a Website. For one people will often use it to validate that you are a legitimate company. Trust me people these days are doing there homework. More often than not you will never realize that they have checked you out. And it doesn't have to be a way expensive site either. Dale here on pressure net can get you up and running super quick. Check it out.

I don't have a website cause I am tech retarded. I chickenpluck when I type for crying out loud. My business comes from referrals mostly. I bring a photo album with me of past jobs I've done. If I knew how to get a website up and running I would definitely create one. Advertising is so freakin expensive! Here in NYC, EVERYTHING is expensive! But customer service and satisfaction has gotten me this far. I am trying a couple other forms of advertising and I'll let ya know how they did at the end of the season. wink.gif
